About Basecamp

Basecamp was born out of the destruction brought upon WNC by Hurricane Helene. Owner and local climbing guide, Jack Lynch, noticed the disruption the storm created in both indoor and outdoor climbing communities. "When my wife, Liz, and I moved from Asheville to Hendersonville in early 2025, we noticed the lack of outdoor community gathering spaces, despite living in a city with a uniquely strong sense of community renowned for its natural wonders." Thus, Basecamp was born, to create Hendersonville's first rock gym built around inclusivity, community, and wellness. 

In the months since this idea was born, the Basecamp team have found our home at 417 S Main St. in beautiful downtown Hendersonville.
